The Fishing Shack is where an Old Rod is picked up. You need the campfire at least at level 2 before the fishing code steps make sense. Salmon and Mackerel from this loop are the Alpha Wolf tame.

You build a camp, keep the campfire burning, and try to reach 99 nights. The official listing says you build that camp with friends. A run can continue past night 99. Rescuing four missing children is a major objective, and a Self-Preservation badge is described for reaching day 99 without rescuing any of them.
