The Deer

The Deer is the nighttime antagonist and is not something you kill. Campfire light keeps it out. A flashlight stuns or turns it when you are caught away from camp. On night 1 it approaches and does not attack. From day 2 it does attack outside the light if you have no flashlight.

Sprint for the fire. Do not stand in the dark trading hits. Damage reports vary with the day count and with whether the Deer is described as hungry, so there is no single health bar to plan around.

The Owl

The Owl is also treated as unkillable. A flashlight can stun it. The chase gets faster if the stun fails. When the stealth meter climbs, stop moving. Standing still is the reported way to drop detection. It is associated with the snow biome and the wider forest.

The Ram, the Bat, and the Cat

These three are grouped with the Deer and the Owl as immortal threats in an October 2026 monster guide.

  • The Ram is a volcanic-biome charger. It breaks trees. Step off the line of the charge instead of backing straight up.
  • The Bat is a cave threat and is described as blind, so the flashlight stun used on the Deer does not apply. Take cover from the screech behind rock.
  • The Cat is described in jungle and forest areas with a pounce that does not care about the ground path. Keep distance rather than trusting a low fence.

Animals you can kill

Wolves, alpha wolves, bears, and scorpions are normal hostile animals. One October 2026 table lists reported health at 75 for a wolf, 125 for an alpha wolf, 300 for a bear, and 50 for a scorpion. Those numbers are from that table only.

Wolves and alpha wolves drop meat and pelts the Pelt Trader and the anvil both want. Bears drop bear pelts. Scorpions are reported to poison. Kite groups around trees with target lock (Ctrl on PC) so they stack and a Spear hits more than one.

Aliens are a separate raid tied to Flames and to UFO crashes. The mothership is where rayguns and other alien weapons are reported. Clear a path home before you board anything, and do not leave the campfire empty while you do it.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What are you trying to do in 99 Nights in the Forest?

You build a camp, keep the campfire burning, and try to reach 99 nights. The official listing says you build that camp with friends. A run can continue past night 99. Rescuing four missing children is a major objective, and a Self-Preservation badge is described for reaching day 99 without rescuing any of them.

Can I play alone?

Yes. You can start a run alone. Survival parties are reported at up to five players. That party size is separate from whatever capacity the Roblox lobby shows.

Diamonds are the class currency. The September 3, 2025 class guide says you earn them from badges, events, and chests, then spend them in the class shop. Promo codes are another reported source.
